CBS announced on Tuesday that it is developing a new NCIS spin-off set in Hawaii, while on Wednesday, it revealed the cancellation of NCIS: New Orleans after seven seasons. The show starring Scott Bakula will end with its season finale scheduled to air on May 16. NCIS: New Orleans was the third show in the franchise, which launched in 2003 with Mark Harmon's NCIS being its first spin-off. CBS is not done with the franchise yet and is considering a version based in Hawaii, likely using the production base from Hawaii Five-0, which ended its 10-season run last April.
