Morghul was a relatively young dragon who was bound to Princess Jaehaera Targaryen, though never ridden by her. Following the capture of King's Landing by Rhaenyra Targaryen and her force of Black loyalists, Jaehaera escaped the capital while her dragon remained in the Dragonpit.
